How to Boost Mechanics for IITJEE?

Hi Guys 😄, I am posting a article after a long time. Actually I was busy with my semester exam. Yeah I'm free now.😝

Let's come to the point. Question is "How to improve mechanics section of physics for IITJEE ?"

For Theory:

Recommended Book for theory in Physics is Resnick Halliday .
If you are facing problems in Physics, then  follow it.

It explains every topic  in great detail. Real life example is used to explain the concepts.  The in-text examples will  guide you how to proceed to solve problems and what strategy one must follow to solve the questions.

For Practice:

  • The 2 Arihant mechanics books: part 1 and part 2.Now the new edition of book has solved exercises also.(just heard from others)
  •  Find some nice coaching institues package which has questions of all level from beginners to difficult level.(Based on IITJEE Pattern)
  • Solve atleast 1000 problems of Mechanics.
  •  If you really want a firm command in Mechanics , Irodov is a must to solve. It has  a numbers of challenging problems. It is strongly recommended that you pick up Irodov after you have completed  all of mechanics concepts.

As a  Result:

It will  give you a lot of confidence.

and  develope speed and accuracy in mechanics
That's what needed in IITJEE

In short,
Just  read book and solve a number  of problems.  Solve about 2000 problems (starting from a basic book to Irodov level).

I hope this post will help you grasp a firm command in mechanics.

All the best!😊

Final Stage of IITJEE Preparation after JEE Main

Hi guys,
Hope you are doing well in your study.

Guys, now the final stage of your JEE preparation is coming .
This is the very critical period. Only two things are possible , either you can make a lot from
this (if you utilise it properly) or you get ruined.

Here are a few rules or you can say some tips that you may follow to ensure success in IITJEE :-

Rule 1:

Have faith on yourself

Don't ask from your friends how much he/ she has prepared for exam, what books he/she is following, What topic is yet left to cover bullah-bullah!!!

Just stop it!!!!!

This will distract you and make you tensed. In order to study more and more to catch your friend you will forget your strategy. After few days you will spend time in devising again a new strategy and you will found that you have many topics to study. AND THIS WILL MAKE YOU STRESS. Finally you will like not to prepare .

Rule 2:

Don't get overconfident

If you have prepared well for the exam and  your are doing well in Test series then don't stop practicing and don't decrease your study hour  in this period .
Instead study with double effort and practice more questions than earlier.

Many bright students has been seen that they do well in Test Series, Class Test etc but they perform poor in exam. Do you know why this happen?OVERCONFIDENT!!
This is what ruined those bright students. So have confidence in yourself  but avoid overconfident. This is the most important thing to ensure during this period.

Rule 3:

Follow Your Daily Routine

It means wake up early in the morning and sleep early. In short ,take enough sleep in night so that you don't fall asleep in day time. Our mind needs rest; then only it function well and you will study with full concentration .Guys, you will understand more concepts in less time.
Take breakfast and dinner at right time. In evening take short walk ,talk with people around you but avoid watching TV. You can listen songs.
So ,stick to your routine .
Do What Is Right,In The Right Way, At The Right Time!

Rule 4:

Avoid  new books

Stick with the book that you have studied earlier .Many books have same questions just style of asking question is different. Therefore don't  experiment with the new books in this critical  period. It will save your time.
So stop using new books.

Rule 5:

Practice as much as you can

Daily solve question of Math, Physics and Chemistry(Or each day you can solve 2 subjects ,in which you feel comfortable )  In Math solve the questions of different types. Make notes of important formulas in a notebook. So that you can revise it before going to exam. Same apply for the physics and chemistry also.
REMEMBER:
Practice Makes a Person Perfect.

Rule 6:

Take All India Test Series Exam

In order to evaluate yourself (to know where you stand) , you should take AITS of some coaching like Resonance, FIITJEE, Vidya Mandir or some other renowned coaching.
If you have not done will in exam, then at home solve all the question and take help of solution. Attempt it properly!!

You will realize that it has some new question which are not found in books .It has been analysed that a few JEE questions are similar to AITS question.
In this way, you'll learn to handle the unexpected and tough questons in the paper.
This will increase your stamina of sitting 6 hours in exam.
You will overcome your exam nervousness
and exam fear.

Remember: The IITJEE topper undergo through the same condition but he learns to sort out this problem before sitting in IITJEE.

Rule 7:

Self Analysis:

While you are taking AITS you  find , where are you lacking. In which topic your marks is going down. Know your strong topics and weak topics. Don't keep aside your strong topics .Instead practice questions of strong topics also otherwise it will become weak. Atleast daily practice two hours each day or alternate day.
Learn from your mistakes, and not repeat them. Evaluate your scores.Sit with the paper, and think where you are lacking.

These are a few rules that you may follow during your preparation of IITJEE.

Feel free to post your doubts.
I and my friends will surely try to  answer as many as we can.

Utilise your time in study!

We will be back with some Do's and Don'ts in the next post.
Cheers!

Revision Strategy For Board Exam

Very few days is left for Board exam. Pressure must have increased. I know you must be thinking about how to handle so much pressure ???? Board Exam > JEE Main > JEE Advanced !!!
I have gone through the same pressure  last year. If I am not mistaken your first exam will be

(A.) English

--> If you have spent atleast one hour throughout the years in studying english then you should just practice sample papers of Evergreen Publications daily for three hours. Or you can use other books also . It is just recommended. I have followed this book.
--> English paper will have reading and writing section . Focus more on writing section. Because if your writing section will be good then teacher will give you good marks if your reading section is not so good.
--> In writing section practice writing notice, letter writing , report writing , article , debate thoroughly from "Evergreen book" . It has enough questions with solutions with past year questions.
--> Regarding the reading section , know the gist of story , message , characters name, places etc. Read the text book prescribed for your board thoroughly.
--> Make short notes of these points in separate copy. It will help you in quick revision before the exam.If english paper go well then half of pressure gets reduced .

Next usually you will have  Mathematics then Physics then  Chemistry.

(B.) Mathematics

Study NCERT in great detail. Solve the examples given in maths book. They might seem easy but if you don't have a practice of "writing" a solution thoroughly , then you will be facing problem in your Board exam.
--> So better sit with a pen and paper and write down the solutions to even the easy questions.
-->  There is step marking in maths.
--> So first write what is given in question in short. Show the rough work in the end of page .
--> While writing your answer after calculation write it in rectangular box. It helps you in differentiating you from other students.
--> Practice Maths previous year papers .
--> I suggest you follow "Brothers and Goyal " math question bank.
There are certain topics that are not in Jee syllabus. Prepare it also.

Do the same with Physics and Chemistry .

(C.) Chemistry

Prepare NCERT thoroughly and you will be done with class 12th syllabus of JEE Main and JEE advanced too (partly).
--> For practice of physical chemistry you may follow NCERT exemplar.
--> Prepare the Inorganic part thoroughly. It is scoring.
--> Always write chemical equation in explaining answer.
--> Solve the question bank of atleast  last 4 years. If you solve it then almost 55 - 60 marks is confirmed.

(D.) Physics

-->Make sure to cover all the proofs and derivations in Physics. They are important.
--> While writing answers mention the formulas clearly . Teachers give more marks in writing equations .
-->  Make sure you have memorized all the tables and diagrams mentioned in NCERT for both Physics and Chemistry. Tables are very very important . Direct questions are asked from it.

Lastly comes the optional subject (Computer/Physical education/Hindi/any other). My optional subject was IP. If your optional subject is Informatics Practice, then practice the programs by writing in computer. Learn the important definitions .

Again practice the sample paper. Getting above 90% in CBSE board is very easy. It just requires practise of atleast last 5 years question papers . For CBSE Board , the GodBook is NCERT .

Don't search for unnecessary guides and all. Guides are required for English and optional subject. Make sure to follow the syllabus strictly. You should not end up wasting time on something else that is not really required.
Remember you have to be in the top 20 percentile of your board for admission in IITs. As you know there will be no weightage will be given for calculating the AIR in JEE Main. But it is required to score atleast 75 - 80 percent of marks.

All the best.

Comments and suggestions are welcome.

Recommended Mathematics Book

These are the books that most IITJEE aspirants prefer to follow.
These are the recommended books.
You can use other books  with which you are comfortable.

I assure you if you solve the selected chapters (mentioned below ) from these books not all chapters , then no one can stop you from getting under 500 AIR in JEE Advance and any other engineering competitive exams.

(a). Maths Books

            (1.) Tata McGraw Hills (TMH)
It is a nice book for practice complex numbers, Trigomoteric equations , Integration , 3D related questions and vectors. It has varities of questions of different levels.

(2.) Arihant Differential Calculus by Amit Agrawal
This is the best book for mastering the chapters like finding limits,  questions related to differentition and  maxima   and    minima.

(3.) Coordinate Geometry by SK Goel
This is the God book for mastering the questions related to cirle , parabola , ellipse, and hyprerbola. I have followed this for preparing coordinate geometry. It is a really nice book.
I suggest you try it.

            (4.) Arihant Algebra
From this book I have only solved the permutations and combinations and probability.
Quadratic  equations chapter has also nice problems for JEE.

(5.) Cengage Mathematics for JEE Adv
I have not used this book . But I get to know from my brother that it is nice book for practice. It also come with solutions of some selected questions.

(6.) Problems in calculus of one variable: (with elements of theory) by: I. A Maron

Apart from this you can also solve the study packages provided by the coachings.
I was in FIITJEE Patna Center coaching. It has organised study  packages like GMP(Grand Master Package) . I find GMP tough. It has logical questions which require through practice of concepts .You can buy it from OLX. It is easily available.

For Revision and practice , I used to solve the Resonance Rank Booster. It has enough questions for practice . It comes along with the solution manual .
